I Thought I Was Starting Over. Maybe God Was Renewing Me

I Thought I Was Starting Over. Maybe God Was Renewing Me

There are moments in life when everything familiar seems to change at once.

The plans you had.
The place you called home.
The people you were used to having around you.
The dreams you thought would happen by a certain time.

And suddenly, you find yourself standing in a place you never expected to be, wondering:

What now?

That is where I found myself.

I was starting over in a new country, leaving behind what was familiar and many of the people and things I loved. I had dreams, plans, and expectations for my life, but suddenly the path ahead looked very different from the one I had imagined.

And honestly, there were moments when I wondered if I had made a mistake.

There were moments when I felt behind.

Moments when I questioned whether some of my dreams were still possible.

And moments when I simply didn't know what was next.

But somewhere in the middle of that uncertainty, God began teaching me something I hadn't fully understood before:

Starting over is not always the same as starting from nothing.

Sometimes, God is simply beginning something new.

When You Don't Know What's Next

One of the hardest things about uncertainty is that we want answers.

We want to know where we're going.

How long it will take.

What is going to happen.

Whether everything will work out.

But faith doesn't always give us the entire map.

Sometimes, faith simply gives us enough light for the next step.

I think about the people of Israel leaving Egypt and beginning their journey toward the Promised Land.

They knew where God was calling them, but they didn't know everything that would happen along the way.

There would be wilderness.

There would be uncertainty.

There would be moments when they would wonder what was ahead.

Yet they had to keep walking.

That story became deeply personal to me.

Because sometimes our own lives feel like a wilderness.

We leave behind what we know, but we haven't yet arrived at where we're going.

And that space in between can be uncomfortable.

But perhaps the wilderness is not proof that God has abandoned us.

Perhaps it is simply part of the journey.

Faith Means Walking Before You Can See the Whole Path

We often think faith means being completely confident.

But I've learned that faith can also look like taking the next step while still having questions.

It can look like saying:

"God, I don't understand this, but I trust You."

It can mean continuing when you don't have all the answers.

Praying when you don't know what to pray.

Believing when circumstances don't yet reflect what you're hoping for.

And reminding yourself that God's timing doesn't have to look like your timeline.

There were things I thought would have happened by now.

Dreams I thought would already be fulfilled.

Plans I thought would look completely different at this point in my life.

But perhaps I was measuring my life by the wrong thing.

Maybe the question isn't:

"Why am I not where I thought I would be?"

Maybe the better question is:

"What is God doing in me during this season?"

Maybe You're Not Behind

Have you ever looked at someone else's life and wondered why yours doesn't look like theirs?

Maybe they seem further ahead.

Maybe they have the career you wanted.

The family you imagined.

The business you dreamed about.

The house.

The stability.

The opportunities.

And you start wondering:

"Am I too late?"

I've asked myself that question.

But I'm learning that God's plans don't have to follow the timeline we created for ourselves.

A delayed season is not necessarily a wasted season.

A different path is not necessarily a wrong path.

And starting over doesn't mean that everything you experienced before was wasted.

God can use every season.

The experiences.

The disappointments.

The lessons.

The relationships.

The waiting.

Even the moments when you thought you were going backward.

Sometimes God is preparing you for something you cannot see yet.

I Thought I Was Starting Over. Maybe I Was Being Renewed.

This thought became one of the deepest inspirations behind KAIA VIVA.

I thought I was simply starting over.

But perhaps God was renewing something in me.

Renewing my faith.

Renewing my perspective.

Renewing my courage to dream again.

Renewing my willingness to believe that my story was not finished.

And that changed the way I began to see my circumstances.

I stopped seeing my beginning as evidence of failure.

I started seeing it as an opportunity.

An opportunity to build something meaningful.

An opportunity to use the gifts and experience God had given me.

An opportunity to encourage other people who might also be walking through an uncertain season.

That is where KAIA VIVA was born.

Not from having everything figured out.

Not from having unlimited resources.

Not from knowing exactly what the future would look like.

But from faith.

Why KAIA VIVA Exists

KAIA VIVA is more than a Christian lifestyle and gifting brand.

It was born from a personal journey of faith, uncertainty, and renewal.

I wanted to create beautiful things that carry something deeper than their physical appearance.

A journal can become a place to pray.

A candle can become a reminder of God's presence.

A mug can carry a message that someone needs to read on a difficult morning.

A gift box can tell someone:

You are not alone.

You are not forgotten.

There is still hope.

That's why the message comes first.

The products are simply a way to carry that message into everyday life.

Because sometimes we need a physical reminder of something our heart already knows:

God is still with us.

If You're Starting Over Too

Maybe you're reading this because you're starting over too.

Maybe you moved somewhere new.

Maybe you lost something you thought you'd have forever.

Maybe a relationship changed.

Maybe your career didn't turn out the way you expected.

Maybe you're rebuilding financially.

Maybe you're waiting for an answer.

Maybe you're simply trying to figure out what comes next.

If that's where you are, I want to remind you of something:

You don't have to know the entire path.

You only need to take the next step.

You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin.

You don't have to wait until your circumstances are perfect.

And you don't have to compare your journey with someone else's.

God knows where you are.

He knows what you've lost.

He knows what you're hoping for.

And He knows where He is leading you.

There Is Still a Promised Land Ahead

I don't know exactly what my future will look like.

And maybe that's okay.

I'm learning to walk with God without demanding that He show me the entire road first.

I'm learning to trust Him with the parts I cannot control.

I'm learning that a new beginning can be beautiful, even when it begins in uncertainty.

And I'm learning that sometimes what feels like an ending is actually the beginning of something completely new.

So if you're in a season where you feel lost, behind, or uncertain, I hope you remember:

Your story is not over.

You are not forgotten.

You are not walking alone.

You don't need to see the whole path to take the next step.

Keep walking.

Keep praying.

Keep trusting.

Keep believing.

There is still a Promised Land ahead.

And maybe, just maybe, this isn't the end of your story.

Maybe you are being renewed.
